Greetings CTSGNA Members,
Time sure does fly! We hear that a lot this time of year as the summer vacations come to an end and the new school year commences. Your CTSGNA board took some time too but have continued to plan educational events for our nurses and associates to help promote best practice.
Our next virtual educational hour will be held on Thursday, September 21st at 6pm. Betty McGinty, MSHSA, RN, CGRN, CER, shares her expertise in the field of Gastroenterology with her presentation "Detection to Diagnosis - Tissue Acquisition: Describing the optimal techniques used in obtaining and diagnosing tissue samples. Betty's presentations both local and nationally receive the most favorable reviews and requests for additional programs.
Moving on to October 14th, we have our annual BTS Program that includes six presentations that will surely enhance knowledge and practice in GI. For more specific information on the content and to attend please visit our website and click on Beyond the Scope tab at the top of the page.
Membership has perks! Please apply for scholarships!! Information and application are conveniently available under documents on the website. The costs for BTS and other programs can be covered with a scholarship and the deadline is approaching so send it in now, there is nothing to lose!
Do you know who the 2023 GI Nurse of the year is? You may know that hard-working, professional, who is dedicated and dependable, has your back, excels at problem solving and is a pleasure to work with! Take a few minutes and nominate that person! Your professional organization needs assistance. People in this field, who can step up and help guide CTSGNA as an officer or board member. The board meets mostly by zoom for one hour (nine times for 2023); and once in-person over dinner in January. Participation incentives are real, please reach out to Kathy Vinci for more information prior to September 30th for 2024! Being an active participant in your professional organization can certainly enrich your career and brighten your pathways!
