Beyond the Scope 2021 was held October 16th, 2021. Thank you to everyone who attended!
Hello CTSGNA members and friends,
It has been one year since we as a nation (and the world) have had a “normal” life. As we have all been dealing with 'COVID', CTSGNA has continued to try to reach out to our members with education and communication. I hope you have taken advantage of some of those educational opportunities. Hopefully now with the vaccination rollout and progress on understanding the transmission of COVID, we can look forward to returning to our in-person activities. I miss seeing you all!
Once again the SGNA Annual Course will be held virtually. The dates for this are May 22-25, 2021. Registration is open!! The CTSGNA Board has decided that since this is a virtual event and costs are reduced we would like to offer more scholarships for the 2021 annual course. Therefore we are happy to announce that 5 scholarships are available to existing members, AND 5 scholarships to brand new members to the 2021 annual course! All applications are due by April 10th, 2021 in order to take advantage of the Early Bird pricing. This is a great opportunity to encourage your colleagues to join SGNA. Furthermore, we are offering an additional incentive to members who refer new members-$25 to be credited to either the annual course or CTSGNA fall program Beyond the Scope.
Beyond The Scope (BTS) will be held on October 15-16, 2021 at the Doubletree by Hilton in Bristol, CT! We are already beginning to plan for it. If anyone would like to serve on the BTS committee please contact Kathy Vinci or myself. We are always looking to recruit new talent for this event!
Please remember that we are continuing to offer Virtual events during this time of social distancing. CTSGNA recognizes and thanks our president-elect Kathy Vinci for coordinating the educational events! Our next educational opportunity will be Thursday, April 15. Please contact Kathy Vinci at kathyvinci.rn@gmail.com if you would like to participate and have not already registered. Also, we are planning and hoping to have our in-person dinner meeting this June, more to come on this later.
Finally, please know that your CTSGNA board is continuing to work for our region. We will be reviewing the bylaws this year, and will be presenting them to you for your approval.
Please contact me directly at redeemedrn@yahoo.com if you have any questions or concerns.
Thank you all for your continuing service to our patients, our profession, and our specialty of gastrointestinal nursing.
Sincerely,
Barbara Comstock, BSN, RN, CGRN
President CTSGNA
